may 2011: DANISH CHAIR:

Picked up this oh so nice Danish chair from Joe at Mid2Mod, Thanks Joe! By the way, great name for your business. Saw the chair on one of his craiglist ads and had to go get it. He has nice pieces at very reasonable prices.

may 2011: it's been a while:

So, it's been quite some time since I've updated the site, mainly because we have been extremely busy and have had no more progress on the house. A new mid century find has prompted this update.

But first, some updates. Claire is growing steadily, as well as her vocabulary and imagination. Some of the things that comes out of that child amazes me. I was fussing at her the other day and she said, "Dad, this is all a big mistake". LOL, where do they learn this stuff?

I myself have been pursuing my TX Real Estate license for the past 12 months. It was a slow start, but now I complete 1 - 3 units every night. There are about 14 units per class. I am 1 class and 2 units away from scheduling my exam. Not sure what I'm going to do with the license, since I have literally no interest in pursuing a real estate career. But, I thought perhaps it would be good to have. "IN CASE OF NEED OF EMERGENCY CAREER CHANGE, CONTACT LOCAL REALTOR", sort of thing.

Jennifer has been busy growing her practice. She has also been really fortunate to fill the spot of a well known and loved physician who is going into semi-retirement. So, she has an insta-clinic. She has trying days, but overall I think she likes it and feels it's a rewarding career.

Ok, back to the piece of mid century heaven. I found an awesome 50's Garrison drop leaf table and chairs for our kitchen. We've been looking since December when we bought the house, but nothing was just right. It looks to be Danish, the seat cushion material is interesting, a little odd, but makes it even better. Scotty at Retro Revival in Lewisville, TX was kind enough to deliver it to me. They have giveaways on their Facebook page, so click above to visit them.
